
Dr. Joslin was born and raised in Palo Verde, AZ (just outside of Buckeye).
He graduated from Buckeye Union High School.
He went to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and Colorado State University
School of Veterinary Medicine.
He graduated in 1981 with his degree in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Joslin did an externship
in Kentucky in equine breeding. He works at both Estrella Animal Hospital, Inc.
and Estrella Equine Practice where he continues to practice equine medicine. Dr.
Joslin is very active in politics, having just completed a term as president of
the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. In his off time he is busy with his
own pets, Zoey the Labrador, Dakota the Border Collie, his cats, Damien and Skyler,
and his horses, Gonzo, Jack, Snowflake, Rosa and Tango. His favorite past-time hobby
is team-roping.
Dr. Stevens was born and raised in central Phoenix. She attended Central High School,
completed her pre-veterinary courses at Arizona State University and graduated with
dual degrees in veterinary medicine in 1985 from Washington State University and
Oregon State University. She has practiced in several hospitals throughout the valley
before she came to Estrella Animal Hospital Inc. in 1998.
Dr. Stevens and her husband live in Buckeye, AZ in a log cabin with their 1 Doberman,
Rein, 4 Corgis, Bandit, Rodeo, Hay and Rope, 2 cats, Paint and
Dually, 9 horses(one horse on the way), 3 burros, and lots of chickens.
In her off-time you will find her riding her cutting and roping horses or running
her Corgis in dog agility.
Dr. Herman was raised in and around Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University
School of Veterinary Medicine with his degree in veterinary medicine.
He had his own practice in Albany, Oregon for 25 years before his displeasure for
rain and his passion for golf overcame him and he decided to move to sunny Arizona
where he could play year round.
He shares his home with his two four-legged children, Achilles Jonathan, a Schnauzer
and Brianna Marie, a terrier mix he endearingly refers to as his weasel-dog.
Dr. Macey, although born in southern California, moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ when
she was very young. We call her a near native of Arizona. She attended Lake Havasu
High School, Northern Arizona University for her pre-veterinary, and graduated in
2004 from Washington State University with her degree in Veterinary Medicine. Before
moving to Estrella Animal Hospital, she practiced both small animal and large animal
medicine in Flagstaff. She enjoyed working with camelids and ferrets.
She is married to Joshua, who at this time is serving our country in Iraq and is
expecting her first child in August, 2006. She shares her home with 3 dogs, Dharma
and Phoebe, her corgis, Trout, her Golden Retriever, Spider, her Maine Coon cat,
a chinchilla, a ferret and her fish.
In her off-time you can find her reading, hiking, camping or fishing.
Dr. O’Donnal is the newest member of our professional staff, although she has worked
for Estrella Animal Hospital before as both a kennel assistant and technician. She
too is an Arizona native, attending Independence High School and Grand Canyon College
for her pre-veterinary courses, graduating in May, 2006 from Colorado State University
with her degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. O’Donnal loves the horses also and works part-time at Estrella Equine Practice
and part-time with us at Estrella Animal Hospital.
She has just moved back to Arizona and shares her home with 5 dogs, Willie, a Scottish
Terrier, being her most adored boy, 2 cats, and her horses.
Dr. Spillers works with us on a part-time basis. She was raised in Ohio and attended
and graduated from Ohio State University with her degree in Veterinary Medicine
in 1977 and a Masters Degree in Toxicology in 1998 from Iowa State University. She
has practiced medicine throughout the country in Maine, South Carolina, New Jersey,
Ohio, Iowa and Arizona. Dr. Spillers is also retired as a Lt. Colonel from the National
Guard.
She shares her home with her numerous cats, her horses and Paco her burro. She enjoys
hiking, gardening, trail riding and has been training to play polo.
Dr. France has worked with us at Estrella Animal Hospital as a relief veterinarian
since 1996.
She was born in Baltimore, MD and raised mostly out of the United States, a military
child. She attended high school in both Glendale, AZ and Ohio. Her pre-vet was at
Glendale Community College, the University of Arizona, and Arizona State University.
While attending pre-vet school she worked as a technician at Apollo Animal Hospital.
She attended Oregon State University and graduated in 1990 with her degree in Veterinary
Medicine. She enjoys working with exotics, avians, and rescue animals.
She shares her home with her husband, Brian, two children, Joshua and Felicity and
a multitude of dogs, cats, birds, chickens, horses, and whatever else comes her
way. She enjoys reading, dance, attending her sons baseball games, daughters dance
classes, and playing with her dogs.
